It is so strange that some people resemble with someone a lot,,and they remind you about that special someone and you dwell into memories n memories..!
What to say if that someone was your family member...!!
I diagnosed an old lady patient today..she was of short height, lean, wearing a spects and was covering her head with her dupatta..
she was looking so similar to my grandma..but i was busy and it didnt come to my mind at that time..
She had root stumps and x-ray was to be done..
When I asked her for money to pay for x ray,she slided her hand into a pocket attached to her long undershirt(just like pockets attached to kurta pyjama) and took out a hanky which was tied into knots, wrapped around money..
At that moment,i was stunned..it was my typical grandma thing..
we called her chai ji..
She would always keep her money like this..wrapped n tied into hankeys..
And she would forget where she kept her that hankey in room..she would get nervous that her money was misplaced, and all kids in house (me,my brother n 3 cousins) would search for that hankey all around in her room..!under the bed..below pillow...mattress..inside trunks..in uer almirah..everywhere!!
It was just like hunting for a treasure..n whoever found it would be so happy,as it always brought her smile back to her face..
For her, even small amount like 10 rs was big for her,coz she had not much idea about latest market prices..
For her,in 10rs you could buy a lot of stuff..!
That was the most innocent part of her which I loved the most..!
Sometimes she would wrap her hankey around her spects n would forget where she kept it..That was the most emergency situation...!
My all family would leave all their work and start searching for her spects..
And then dad would announce a prize for the winner,n we wud search with more enthusiasm.!
This was the best family hide n seek game we played..
We never got angry on her as we knew it was coz of her ageing...
She became more n more innocent and childish as she grew older..
There was one simple trick to make her happy- a cup of tea made by me..! She loved it n would always apppreciate it..
Whenever i wasnt around, mom would make 'mithi sewiya' for her..her all time favourite!!
Whenever me or my brother would get hurt while playing,we would always rush to chai ji to show it to her.. she would get so much panicked even by a small scratch, n we loved the sympathy n care by her..!!
She passed away 4 yrs back..and i must say, with her, most of the happiness, family togetherness n lively atmosphere is gone too!!
Miss you a lot chai ji..You are always remembered..may you be happy, wherever you are......!!
